JOAQUÍN PÁLL (violín)

Considered as one of the main violinist of his generation in his countries, Iceland and Spain, Joaquín Páll Palomares began studying the violin under the tuition of his parents, Unnur Pálsdóttir and Joaquín Palomares, both violinists. Today he´s concertmaster of 2nd violins in Iceland Symphony Orchestra. Previously he had the same position in Randers Kammerorkestrer.

Joaquín Páll has performed as soloist many of the big concertos with different orchestras, both nationally and internationaly, such as Sibelius, Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky´s violin concertos with Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Brahms with Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven with Torrevieja Symphony Orchestra and Vivaldi´s Four Seasons with Orchestra Femminile Italiana. He is a very active chamber musician as well and has performed in countries like Germany, England, Italy, France, Faroe Island, Denmark, Holland and USA.

He has been awarded several prizes in his career. In 2007 he was winner of the competition «Yound Soloists» in Iceland, in 2014 he won a prize in «Danish String Competition», as well as several other competitions at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Joaquín has participated in master classes with some of the main violinists of this time, such as Guilles Apap, Pekka Kuusisto, Noah Bendix-Balgley and Nikolaj Znaider.

He finished master´s degree as well as Soloist Diploma from the Royal Danish Academy of Music where his teacher was Serguei Azizian. He also finished his bachelor degree from the well-known conservatory Hochschule für Musik «Hanns Eisler» in Berlin in 2013. His teacher there was Prof. Ulf Wallin.
